GIS & Data Analytics Specialist

Maps, spatial tools, and automated pipelines for state and federal teams, environmental orgs, public health organizations, and anyone else who needs geospatial insight without having to dig through the data themselves.
I work with stakeholders to figure out what they actually need, then build the spatial tools, pipelines, and visualizations to get them there. That's meant GIS automation for state environmental agencies, compliance dashboards for federal building scientists, and fire and aerosol analysis for an environmental health organization. The work lives at the intersection of translating stakeholder requirements into precise technical specifications and executing on them end to end.
About
GIS and data analytics specialist based in Hyattsville, MD, with about nine years of work across environmental consulting, public health, federal building sciences, and satellite imagery. M.S. from Clark University, B.S. from UMBC. Across all of it, the consistent focus has been spatial data that requires significant cleaning and structuring before it can be used.
Most of my projects start with understanding what a stakeholder actually needs and mapping that to a clear set of technical requirements. From there, the work is translating those requirements into a technical workflow and executing on it cleanly. Getting that translation right is where most projects succeed or fall apart.
Active Secret clearance. Experienced with AWS, enterprise GIS stacks, and Linux. Python is my primary scripting language, used extensively for automation, data processing, and eliminating repetitive manual workflows.

An interactive 3D visualization of population density across Maryland, built in Kepler.gl. Extruded hex bins show where density concentrates and drops off across the state.

Remote Sensing · Data Visualization
Ten years of fire and aerosol data across Indonesia, processed in Google Earth Engine. The challenge wasn't the analysis. It was distilling satellite-derived environmental trends into something a regional policy team could actually use. Built for EcoHealth Alliance.
Dashboard · Workflow Automation
The ask: project managers needed to track BIM compliance across a portfolio of federal building projects without touching raw data. Power BI dashboards with location-based filtering, automated via Power Automate. Cut manual reporting work by 40%. Built at NIBS.
Remote Sensing · QA/QC
QA/QC on satellite imagery mosaics at Maxar: integrating ground control points, checking spatial accuracy, and testing internal processing software before it went anywhere near production. All of it running out of AWS.
Public Health · Spatial Analysis
Mapped overdose data across Maryland for the state Department of Health's Office of Overdose Prevention. Choropleth maps, point data, shapefiles, built to be loaded into ArcGIS Server so the team could keep using them after I was gone.
Spatial Analysis · Research
Where does broadband infrastructure actually exist, and does it track with economic outcomes? ArcGIS analysis layered against Census data at the University of Baltimore. The gaps were more visible spatially than any table could show.
Automation · Environmental GIS
Maryland's Stormwater and Dam Safety programs run on GIS data that someone has to keep clean. I automated the query side with ArcPy, kept the geodatabases in order, went out on field inspections, and turned it all into compliance reports for state regs.
